An Ode to Girl Scout Cookies

Girl Scout cookie time.
It comes once a year, you know.
Thin Mints call to me.

Thin Mints are tasty.

No need to freeze them, just get
Me a glass of milk.

Peanut butter but

Not the ones with chocolate.
The sandwiches instead.

They were two dollars.

Then two-fifty and now more…
FOUR DOLLARS A BOX?!???

Despite the large price,
I must stock up on Thin Mints.
Make them last through March.

I was a Girl Scout
Long ago and far away.
Many badges earned.

One day my daughter
Will be a Girl Scout. Awesome!
Discounted cookies?

Now, wasn't that fun?  I could haiku all day long. The word on the street is that Girl Scout cookies are on sale through March 20.  Just going out on a limb here, but I think I might need to buy 10 more boxes by then.

1 German chocolate cake mix (dry)
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1/2 Andes mint

Mix first 3 ingredients together, drop by spoonful (or use a cookie scooper) onto an ungreased cookie sheet, bake at 375 degrees for 9-11 minutes. When you remove them from the oven put half of the Andes mint on the top, wait for it to melt a little and smear around with the back of a spoon. They aren't excatly a thin mint; but they are pretty darn close. It helps tide me over until it is Girl Scout cookie time again! :-)
