Little Guy is thisclose to being 18 months old. An entire year-and-a-half! How can my baby be growing that fast? Has that much time gone by already? And now that he's a big boy, he wants to do everything that Mommy and Daddy do. In most situations, that is difficult to accommodate: computer time, serious cleaning, driving. But when it comes to baking time, it's easy to get the Little Guy involved.
I just give him a bowl and spoon, and let him go to work.
I just give him a bowl and spoon, and let him go to work.
When he got bored with pretend mixing, I put some flour in the bowl.
Little Guy was having so much fun, he didn't notice that the contents of my bowl were much more colorful.
Adding salt to taste.
Little Guy must have been paying close attention to my cooking/baking over the past 18 months, because here he is....licking the spoon. Yep, that's my boy!
Finally, he reached for his cell phone. Is he calling for back-up? The Betty Crocker help line? Is he calling Martha herself?
"Ms. Stewart? This is Little Guy from The Martha Initiative. My mom only lets me play with flour and salt. What am I supposed to make with that?"
I tried to listen in, but it was a private call. Little Guy was taking this baking thing very seriously.
Just like Mommy does.
Maybe I should call him my Little TMI Guy.
